Causes

1. Eczema is a condition where skin becomes inflamed, itchy, red, cracked, and rough.  

2. Eczema is linked to inflammation in the body. It is caused by a combination of factors that includes genetics, abnormal function of the immune system.


Symptoms

The symptoms of Eczema can vary, depending on the age of the person with the condition. 

1. In children's:  - Eczema commonly occurs in children's, with dry and scaly patches appearing on the skin which causes extreme itchiness on the skin.   

2. In Adults: The appearance of skin affected by eczema will depend on how much a person scratches and whether the skin is infected. Scratching and rubbing further irritate the skin, increase inflammation, and make itchiness worse.

Prevention

3. Keep your fingernails short to help keep scratching from breaking the skin.
